Nicola J Rowley trained as a Journalist and began her career in local radio before becoming a Reporter/ Newsreader on Radio 1 reading the news for the likes of Chris Moyles and Sara Cox. With a passion for communicating, she soon began working in Television, working predominantly as a Producer/Reporter for the BBC News Channel and covering events for BBC Two, BBC World and as an Entertainment Reporter for BBC Three. A career in Communications beckoned and she worked both in agency and in-house for more than a decade on some of the UK’s most successful stunts, campaigns and launches. She has launched numerous TV channels, including Eden and Drama, both of which led to multi-award winning success including SABRE Award Europe (Gold Winner) Best PR Campaign (The Guardian MAA Awards) and Best Experiential Campaign (Drum Marketing Awards, Highly Commended). She then gained international experience working for BBC Studios, overseeing high-profile programme launches across Africa, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe. More recently, she was the Head of PR at Thorpe Park, where she devised and oversaw the most successful Fright Nights season in the theme park’s history. In January of 2019, Nicola launched her Communications Agency, NJRPR. She now helps female entrepreneurs and brands in the entertainment and leisure industries get noticed through strategic PR storytelling. Alongside the agency, she also runs the Working Mum Association, a global community of 60,000+ women, providing them with additional support, inspiration and motivation. Nicola is also a keen writer and has published two award-winning children’s picture books. A third middle-grade book called Mug the Wumph the Dancing Wizard is due out in May this year.
