Tracy Brown was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, where generations of her family have lived and prospered for over 100 years. At 12 years old, her grandmother presented her with a trunk belonging to her paternal great grandmother, Georgina Masters. Among a variety of relics were letters from Georgina's brothers throughout their time in World War I. Tracy's fascination and deep connection to history—and the human experience—drew her to these letters, which inspired her on her journey to become an author through their heartwarming voices during the war.
